F&R is seeking a staff engineer for our Charlotte, North Carolina office.
The candidate will provide engineering expertise in assisting personnel in implementing geotechnical and materials testing engineering projects, supporting field crews, performing and/or reviewing laboratory tests results and other related engineering activities.
The tasks the applicant may be required to perform may include, but are not limited to:
- Field reconnaissance;
- Field logging and managing drilling program for variety of projects;

The duties of the Environmental Scientist include but are not limited to, performing:
- Asbestos/lead/mold investigations;
- Hazardous Materials surveys;

Preferred education and experience includes:

F&R is seeking a geotechnical engineer to support clients in our Jessup, Maryland operation center.

CMT Laboratory Technician (Dulles, VA)
F&R currently seeking a CMT Laboratory Technician to support clients in our Dulles, Virginia Operations Center.
The ideal candidate will carry out a variety of physical tasks to include properly performing, recording and reporting the results of basic laboratory procedures for soils, asphalt, aggregates, and concrete (for compaction, particle size, quality, and chemical composition) using a variety of specialized equipment including nuclear soils density gauge, scales, meters, or other apparatus. Additionally, will collect and analyze samples.
The successful candidate for this position will be required to be thoroughly knowledgeable regarding the standard test methods for tests performed by a soils and materials testing laboratory (ASTM, CTM, AASHTO).
Requirements
- Able to work independently or in a team environment
- ICC (structural steel welding, structural masonry, pre-stressed concrete, & spray applied fireproofing), Ultrasonic NDT Level II, and ACI concrete sampling certifications highly desirable
- Attention to detail and organizational skills mandatory
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Must be able to lift, push, pull, or carry loads up to 70 lbs on a continual basis while performing the duties of this position in all weather conditions
- Valid driver’s license by hire date
- Working knowledge of the conditions and engineering requirements in the DC Capital Region.
