Environmental Scientist (Chesapeake, VA)
F&R is seeking an Environmental Scientist for our Hampton Roads office.
The duties of the Environmental Scientist include but are not limited to, performing:
- Phase I & II Environmental Site Assessments (ESA);
- National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) compliance;
- Environmental Impact Reviews;
- Asbestos/lead/mold investigations;
- Hazardous Materials surveys;
- Soil and groundwater investigations.
Preferred education and experience includes:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Geology or equivalent work experience;
- Two to four years of experience in environmental site investigation, including field investigation and report generation;
- Excellent computer skills including MS Word, Excel and Powerpoint, and Adobe Acrobat;

Geotechnical Engineer (Jessup, MD)
F&R is seeking a geotechnical engineer to support clients in our Jessup, Maryland operation center.
The candidate will provide engineering expertise in assisting engineering personnel in implementing geotechnical engineering projects, supporting field crews, performing and /or reviewing laboratory tests results and other related engineering activities.
The tasks the applicant may be required to perform may include, but are not limited to: field reconnaissance, field logging and managing drilling program for variety of projects, review test results, perform geotechnical engineering calculations, preparation of soil reports and proposals and various geotechnical engineering tasks.
The position will require minimal travel to and from project sites within the Capital Regiona.
JOB DUTIES

Engineering Project Manager (Jessup, MD)
F&R is seeking an engineering project manager to support clients in our Capital Region operation centers.
We are seeking a project leader with a background in private sector and governmental construction projects to manage numerous projects at once. Since you will be the lead on a variety of construction projects you will often have to coordinate the efforts of other engineers, technicians, and subconsultants to deliver results that ensure our goal of exceeding our clients’ expectations on every project.
Requirements

CMT Laboratory Technician (Dulles, VA)
F&R currently seeking a CMT Laboratory Technician to support clients in our Dulles, Virginia Operations Center.
The ideal candidate will carry out a variety of physical tasks to include properly performing, recording and reporting the results of basic laboratory procedures for soils, asphalt, aggregates, and concrete (for compaction, particle size, quality, and chemical composition) using a variety of specialized equipment including nuclear soils density gauge, scales, meters, or other apparatus. Additionally, will collect and analyze samples.
The successful candidate for this position will be required to be thoroughly knowledgeable regarding the standard test methods for tests performed by a soils and materials testing laboratory (ASTM, CTM, AASHTO).
Requirements
- Able to work independently or in a team environment
- ICC (structural steel welding, structural masonry, pre-stressed concrete, & spray applied fireproofing), Ultrasonic NDT Level II, and ACI concrete sampling certifications highly desirable
- Attention to detail and organizational skills mandatory
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Must be able to lift, push, pull, or carry loads up to 70 lbs on a continual basis while performing the duties of this position in all weather conditions
