In an effort to make the training process as easy as possible, we can provide instruction at a site of your choosing, or host an event at any of our branch offices.

Significant Changes in the IBC 2009 Building Code
The purpose of this Significant Changes presentation is to familiarize design professionals building officials, plans examiners, special inspectors, contractors, construction managers, and others in the design and construction industry with some of the more important code changes made by the implementation of International Building Code (IBC) 2009.

Introduction to Geotechnical Engineering
Addresses subsurface exploration, types of foundations, understanding the geotechnical report, implementing geotechnical recommendations during construction phases, potential construction problems, and compliance with IBC 2009 chapters 16, 17, and 18.

ACI 305 -- Hot Weather Concreting
The discussion includes the implementation of practical, everyday measures that can easily be undertaken to assure quality concrete during hot weather conditions. Undesireable hot weather effects such as increased water demand, rapid slump loss, accelerated set, increased plastic shrinkage, reduced strength, and much more will be addressed.

IBC 2009, Addressing Code Compliance -- Special Inspections
This presentation focuses on IBC 2009, Chapter 17 and briefly addresses all of the special inspection disciplines required, including: geotechnical engineering, soils, concrete, reinforcing steel, structural steel, masonry, sprayed fire-resistant materials, wood, and seismic-force-resisting systems. Several universal enforcer codes such as ACI 318, ACI 530, AWS D1.1, and AISC are discussed as well.

ACI 530-08 and 530.1-08 Masonry Code Compliance and IBC 2009
This discussion covers all special inspection requirements required by IBC 2009, Chapters 17 and 21. ACI 530-08 (building code) and ACI 530.1-08 (specifications) are addressed as the primary enforcer codes which set forth all of the levels of quality assurance required by the building code.

ACI 318-05 Concrete Special Inspections and IBC 2009
This presentation addresses special inspections required by IBC 2009 Chapters 17 and 19 as well as ACI 318-05 which is the primary enforcer code used to establish testing and inspection criteria. Pertinent ASTM designations are discussed and the subject matter ranges from concrete mix design to the various field tests and inspection procedures related to plastic concrete.
