This course follows the EPA model curriculum to teach individuals how to conduct lead dust wipe sampling in housing and child occupied facilities. This course supports the EPA renovator, repair, and painting regulations as well as Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Lead Safe Housing Rule on lead-based paint in federally owned housing and housing receiving federal assistance. This course covers visual assessment, collection of dust samples, interpreting results of laboratory analysis, report writing of sampling, results and explanation of results to the client, and understanding of all federal, state and local regulations . Individuals and organizations interested in this course include: state and local public agencies that administer federal funds for housing; non-profit and community housing organizations; state and local health departments; home inspection firms; lead and other environmental service firms; housing quality standard (HQS) inspectors and rehabilitation specialists.
