A Clemson graduate with a nearly lifelong love of the Japanese language, Craig spent two years as an English instructor with the Japan Exchange and Teaching program in Yamagata Prefecture, Japan. Upon returning home to South Carolina, Craig found that it was also ground zero for a bourgeoning manufacturing industry – this was great news for someone fluent in Japanese. Craig joined Hitachi Devices, USA and worked closely with the Japanese management, engineers, and supervisors as both an interpreter and process quality control supervisor.
Five years later, eager to embrace new challenges and looking for an excuse to get access to Clemson football tickets, Craig returned to his alma mater to get a Master degree in Accountancy. He then joined a prominent accounting firm as an auditor in their manufacturing and distribution practice. After eight years of auditing, he switched roles becoming their business development manager, initially covering the greater Greenville area, then expanding to cover all South Carolina.
Joining F&R in 2017, Craig looks forward to supporting the region’s growth through active involvement in economic development, participation in infrastructure improvements, and attention to environmental concerns. His passion for connecting people and aligning mission and vision to create unique opportunities or to find creative solutions makes him a unique asset to the F&R team. He is actively engaged in the region and rarely passes up an opportunity to participate in project. He is currently Co-Chair of the Japan America Association of South Carolina and President of Greenville Sister Cities International, Chair of Stagecraft Theater for Kids (his daughters’ youth theater organization), and a member of Rotary Club.
