Curtis Childress grew up in the construction industry…literally. Members of his family were active in different aspects of construction, including pipefitters, masons, carpenters, iron workers, and grading and blasting professionals. He has worked in the safety field for 40 years, and is an OSHA and MSHA instructor as well as a certified blaster for mining and construction. He holds credentials as a Certified Safety Professional and as an Associate in Loss Control Management.
Responsible for the oversight of the F&R safety program, Curt works with all of our branches and many of our customers to identify potential problem areas, and address them before injuries occur.
Curt has also served on the Safety Committee for the Associated General Contractors since 1994, and the OSHA Advisory Committee. Retired from the US Army, he is a great grandfather of three (and counting). He is a competitive shooter, and spends his spare time coaching his granddaughters – who are also shooters.
Prior to joining F&R, Curt retired from the Capabilities Development Team at Zurich Insurance Company, and from the position of National Training Manager at St. Paul/ Travelers Insurance Co. He also makes great chili.
Curt’s motto: “At the end of the day, everybody gets to go home.”
