Don Sipher has over 40 years of geotechnical and construction materials testing experience. As Regional Vice President, he is responsible for performance of regional work in offices throughout Virginia. His activities include managerial assistance, fiscal operational review, and technical expertise. He has served as a geotechnical engineer managing subsurface exploration, geotechnical engineering, geological reconnaissance, and field and laboratory soils testing services.
Don was also instrumental in the success of F&R Dam Services Division which he founded over two decades ago and has nurtured to its present multi-professional service line. Beginning with his student engineering trainee position with the USDA’s Soil Conservation Service, he has been involved with the design and construction of earth dams. Don has elevated the very science and practice of engineering and the status of F&R in the industry through his leadership as President of ACEC-Virginia, Fellow of ACEC National and enthusiastic mentorship of a legion of young civil engineering graduates.
A consummate and capable outdoorsman, when not at the office, Don can be found either paddling around in his canoe at his lake cabin in the Adirondacks or serving in his much loved and gratifying role as Eagle Scout mentoring dozens of up and coming Scouts.
