Business development and marketing aren’t jobs; they’re a way of life. Tracey’s been living this life – her passion – in A/E/C for nearly 25 years, joining the industry right after undergraduate school (go Arizona Wildcats!) where she studied Media Arts, minoring in screenwriting. While she hasn’t yet made it on the big screen, her work can be seen on many small screens, in publications, and on stage at conferences around the country in the form of short films, videos, feature articles, presentations, speaking engagements, and more.
An award-winning marketer – recipient of the 2012 Zweig White Marketing Excellence Award in Target Marketing and 2009 PRSA Bronze Anvil Award – she has held senior-level marketing and business development roles for firms in Georgia, Arizona, Virginia, and North Carolina, and she has worked on every side of the industry with the exception of construction. Most recently, she served as vice president of communications and marketing for NC REALTORS® – the 8th largest state association in the country.
With a master’s degree in Integrated Marketing Communications (IMC) from West Virginia University (go Mountaineers!), Tracey approaches business development and marketing from both a relationship and science perspective, using data to inform pursuits, analyze performance, identify trends, and develop strategies, while creating real value. She has an uncanny ability to make connections, assemble winning teams, uncover opportunities before there’s even an opportunity, and design interview presentations and strategies that even architects rave over.
A perennial learner, Tracey spends her spare time inspiring and teaching business leaders as an associate professor of Marketing in the Global Environment with the #1 ranked Jack Welch Management Institute MBA program. Previously, she served as professor of Principles of Marketing and Social Media Marketing Strategy with High Point University and Public Relations in IMC with West Virginia University. You can also find her riding her Harley Davidson, Diamond, around the Triad and northern North Carolina, catching the latest box office hit, estate and antique shopping, traveling, drinking lattes, writing, and working from any Starbucks (her home away from home), and providing a hand up to people in need.
