Froehling & Robertson, Inc.’s environmental team managed the groundwater and soil assessment of the former East Wake Landfill, which had been abandoned in 1986. Located on private property that the County leased for use as a landfill, an environmental assessment indicated that the property had not been adequately monitored for possible negative environmental impacts since the 1990’s.
Drilling work consisted of the installation of permanent and temporary monitoring wells and exploratory soil borings every 100 feet for a total of 2800 feet.
Field work consisted of soil classifications, soil field screening with PID for evidence of volatile organic compounds, groundwater and surface water sampling and aquifer testing. Contaminants of concern included VOCs and Metals.
