For more than seven years, Froehling & Robertson, Inc. provided services on the new, $74 million Green Level High School.
In October 2008, F&R performed a preliminary subsurface exploration and geotechnical engineering evaluation of this 85-acre site prior to being purchased by The Wake County Board of Education for construction of a new high school. The investigation included performing a series of 37 exploratory soil test borings across the project site.
In 2009 and in 2015, F&R was retained by WCPSS to perform asbestos abatement and removal activities for existing houses located at the site. The work included asbestos surveys and abatement monitoring.
From 2008 through July 2010, F&R performed a variety of environmental assessment and soil remediation activities at the site. The work included two Phase II Environmental Site Assessments, delineations of petroleum impacted soils, underground storage tank removal observations, soil excavation and disposal activities, Phase I Limited Site Assessment, water-supply well and septic tank abandonment and monitoring well abandonment. In addition, F&R facilitated the acceptance of the site into the North Carolina Leaking Underground Storage Tank Trust Fund. F&R also prepared and submitted Trust Fund packages to NCDENR, to provide cost reimbursements to WCPSS.
Once construction began, in 2015, F&R provided materials testing and special inspection services on all construction materials used on this project.
