The Greenville Technical College Center for Manufacturing Innovation (CMI) provides an engaging environment that gives students the tools needed to succeed in advanced manufacturing careers and employers the skilled workforce required for commercial success. Froehling & Robertson, Inc. is proud to have contributed to the construction of the new Clemson ICAR-adjacent campus by providing Chapter 17 and Chapter 1 inspections.
F&R’s engineers and technicians specifically provided the following services:
Earthwork: F&R’s field technicians work consisted of characterizing fill material, observing initial soil conditions, and performing density testing during grading and backfilling activities.
Concrete: In the course of concrete work, which included footings, sidewalks, walls, and cast in place piles, F&R observed the foundation bearing soils, monitored concrete placement operations, and cast test cylinders from samples of the arriving mix. Our inspectors verified proper installation of reinforcing steel elements in concrete.
Welding/Bolted Connections: F&R’s Certified Welding Inspectors and ICC Certified Structural Steel inspectors checked assemblies for completeness and alignment, inspected and tested all main stress carrying elements, and checked field‐welded connections for workmanship and quality.
The F&R team also conducted Chapter 1 inspections (building, plumbing, fire, and electrical).
