This new 109,000sf, LEED Silver certified elementary school consolidated and replaced two outdated facilities, accommodating 625 students in grades Pre-K to 5. The design incorporates 21st Century School concepts such as flexible learning spaces, technology immersion, and environments to support performance-based learning.
The school is oriented for maximum daylighting and views and respects the existing wetland areas on site. This project incorporates various building components and natural site elements as teaching tools for sustainability and technology.
Froehling & Robertson, Inc. was retained by the general contractor to provide all required materials testing and special inspection services for the new school. These services included the testing of: stone base and pavement, structural steel, masonry, reinforced concrete, and earthwork.
