Bryce Brueder, PE, is a dedicated professional with a passion for construction and engineering, a fascination that began in childhood with K’nex and Lincoln Logs. Originally from South Glens Falls in Upstate New York, Bryce’s interest in how things are built led him to pursue a career in Engineering and Construction Materials Testing (CMT). His first foray into the field was a college internship with a CMT company in New York, where he contributed to the monumental Tappan Zee / Mario M. Cuomo Bridge project.
Bryce joined F&R directly after graduating from Clarkson University in 2018 and quickly became an integral part of the team. He found F&R to be a welcoming environment with a positive atmosphere and strong camaraderie among colleagues. Bryce’s commitment and capabilities led to significant career growth within F&R, and he quickly progressed from Project Manager to CMT Department Manager and ultimately to Branch Manager.
At F&R, Bryce brings his extensive experience in construction materials testing and inspection services across commercial, industrial, government, and municipal sectors. His expertise includes inspecting reinforcing steel, sampling and field-testing concrete, performing density testing and bearing pressure evaluations on compacted soil, and conducting anchor pull testing. As Branch Manager, he leverages his experience as the former CMT Department Manager, where he coordinated engineers, technicians, special inspectors, and subconsultants, and served as the Professional-in-Charge of CMT QA/QC.
Outside of his professional endeavors, Bryce enjoys an active lifestyle, which includes taking his dogs on walks and adventures, playing golf, and spending time at the gun range or sporting clays. Beyond his engineering expertise, Bryce has a few surprising facets to his background. He is a proud Veteran of the Army National Guard, is a certified scuba diver, and was a dedicated goalie in hockey and lacrosse throughout his high school and college years.
Bryce’s leadership philosophy centers on fostering growth and development within his team. He encourages individuals to step outside their comfort zones to expand their capabilities, while maintaining an open-door policy that welcomes questions and collaboration. He believes that teamwork and open communication are essential for achieving project success.
Bryce holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Clarkson University and maintains Professional Engineer licenses in MD, DC, VA, DE, and PA. His extensive list of certifications includes USACE/NAVFAC CQM, WACEL (Concrete Level I, Structural Masonry, Firestopping Technician, Fireproofing Level I, Structural Steel Inspector Level I), MARTCP (Concrete Field, Asphalt Field), Transportation Security Administration Worker Identification Credential (TWIC), FACE Floor Flatness Profiling, OSHA (10-Hour & 30-Hour Construction Safety and Health, 40-Hour HAZWOPER), and APNGA Radiation Safety Officer.
