F&R provided geotechnical engineering services in preparation for the first industrial-sized brewery in the Roanoke Valley. This project involved renovating and constructing the existing Lawrence Transportation Building into the 259,000-square-foot production facility. This provided the brewery with space for the tasting room, which features indoor and outdoor seating, a banquet room, a growler filling station, a small retail space, and barrel brewing systems.

To accomplish the needed work, F&R visited the site to observe existing surface conditions and features and reviewed and summarized readily available geologic information relative to the project site. Once them team completed the field and laboratory data analysis, our geotechnical engineers provided appropriate design criteria in support of foundation design and site preparation activities.
