Located in McIntire Park, the award-winning 79,000-square-foot Brooks Family YMCA features a state-of-the-art family aquatic center, basketball courts, an elevated running track, exercise studios, and common areas. This new facility is centrally situated to serve the entire Charlottesville community. The YMCA is also built into a slope to better convene with natural park surroundings.

Having a long, successful working relationship with VMDO Architects prepared F&R to be a significant part of the construction team, providing materials testing and special inspections on earthwork (considerably more complex due to the slope construction), cast-in-place concrete, reinforcing steel, masonry, structural steel, and stone base.
