F&R welcomes Craig Melton, P.E., as the Branch Manager to lead pivotal growth in our new Danville, VA, location! Craig, a native of Danville, has played a crucial role in establishing our new presence.

Craig brings 25 years of industry experience, specializing in special inspections, construction materials testing, and structural engineering for major building, transportation, and utility projects. He has a proven track record in managing teams, developing proposals, and building strong client relationships. His industry expertise and valuable prior experience as a naval architect for the Department of Defense make his engineering knowledge highly beneficial.

Craig is genuinely excited about returning to his roots, stating, “I think there is a buzz in the city now, and all signs seem to be pointing to growth in the area. Being a part of the growth where I grew up is a challenge I welcome.” His leadership style focuses on clear communication and preparation, prioritizing “essential communication avenues and a detailed QA plan… to keep the project moving,” and leading by example.

Outside of work, Craig is a college athletics fan and attends as many games as possible. He spends a lot of time in the yard and enjoys activities related to water, whether it be in a lake or the ocean.
