Title

Larry is a New River Valley native, having grown up on his family’s farm in Giles County, VA. He has over twenty-five years of experience in the professional engineering industry, with extensive work experience on transportation, industrial, commercial, government, and residential projects. He focuses on Business Development for F&R’s Crozet and Roanoke Offices and the Virginia Transportation Market Sector.

Larry followed his father’s footsteps into the world of engineering and construction. His father spent 38 years doing design and contract administration for VDOT, where Larry himself began working at age 18. He recalls that his first assigned project was as the lead inspector for a bridge replacement, a huge responsibility at such a young age. Larry had many excellent mentors who encouraged him to continue his education and study engineering and design, which he did through the Civil Engineering Technology program at Old Dominion University.

Paying forward the mentorship that influenced his own path, Larry personally spearheaded the creation of a vocational school for high school students to design and build modular homes.  Together with Habitat for Humanity of the New River Valley, Larry worked to create this program to attract young people to the building trades, fulfilling his desire to inspire the next generation of architects, builders, and engineers. He has also helped Habitat for Humanity of the New River Valley develop several single/multi-family homes that have provided affordable housing for 22 local families since 2012. He is currently serving as the Construction and Development Committee Chairman since 2013.

Larry also serves on the Executive Board of Directors for the Construction Specifications Institute (CSI) Blue Ridge Chapter, recently serving as Board President and now the current Vice-President.

When Larry is not working, he enjoys woodworking, managing his family farm, and spending time with his wife, Leslie, and Mini Goldendoodle, Holly.
