Gary C. Pasquarell, PhD, PE

F&R Senior Engineer Dr. Gary Pasquarell is affectionately known as “Doc” among his colleagues. Gary loves to teach technical subjects, and has plenty of experience doing so, going back to his days as a Ph.D. candidate at Clarkson University where he won the “Best Teaching Award for a Graduate Student”. More recently, Gary has been employed as an Adjunct Professor in the Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics Department at Virginia Western University.

Gary brings a passion for teaching and mentoring to his current role as Vice President of Training for F&R. His responsibilities include development of a new training program for the members of F&R engaged in the CMT side of our business. In this role, he is engaged in both developing new and innovative training tools, as well as personally conducting formal and informal training sessions for the various Branches of F&R.

Gary’s teaching is based on the hands-on experience he gained as both a CMT Project Manager and as the head of the F&R Roanoke’s CMT Department. Since joining F&R in 1997, he has performed engineering oversight of field and laboratory work, reviewed field and laboratory test data, maintained discrepancy logs, and submitted periodic special inspection reports and final special inspection reports pertinent to the compliance of all construction materials and construction methods with applicable building codes. Gary also possesses a wide variety of practical certifications from the International Code Council (ICC), the American Concrete Institute (ACI), the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT), and the National Concrete Masonry Association (NCMA).
