F &R provided geotechnical engineering services in preparation for the first industrial-sized brewery in the Roanoke Valley. This project involved the renovations and new construction of the existing Lawrence Transportation Building into the 259,000sq ft production facility. This provided the brewery the space for the tasting room, which features indoor and outdoor seating, a banquet room, growler filling station, a small space for retail, and barrel brewing systems.
In order to accomplish the work that was needed, F&R visited the site to observe existing surface conditions and features and reviewed and summarized readily available geologic information relative to the project site. The subsurface exploration performed consisted of Once analysis of field and laboratory data was complete, our geotechnical engineers provided appropriate design criteria in support of foundation design and site preparation activities.
